Julia Rojas, a young woman of humble origin and with a difficult life, after many efforts has obtained a degree in Law and now intends to be part of a prestigious law firm.

Things are not going too well for Gonzalo Montoya. At thirty he has no girlfriend (despite a mutual attraction between his cousin Pilar and himself), he is still a student and has become the despair of his mother. Yet, Gonza is an intelligent, well-bred (if not too well-dressed) and kindhearted young man. Among other things he gets on well with Maité, his downstairs neighbor and proves a wonderful tutor (not to say surrogate father) to her son Antonio. But in the eyes of the conservative society he lives in, he has a major defect, his propensity to think for himself. If he has failed his philosophy exam, it is precisely because he would not duplicate his professor's views. And now what idea has he got ? To apostatize, nothing less! Needless to say that his decision marks the beginning of a long, long...Way of the Cross!

Javier Falcón, Chief of the Sevilla Homicide Division, must solve two different cases in a short time. In the first case he is personally involved. An old friend of his infiltrated an Islamic terrorist cell and now the group is trying to recruit his young son for their cause. The same case hits even closer at home. A war is raging between two clans in the Russian Mafia. When an important mobster tries to defect, he gets killed in a car crash. On the scene, the police find an encrypted USB stick with highly explosive information. Then the son of Falcon’s girlfriend Consuelo is kidnapped. They are contacted by both Mafia clans claiming they have the kid and wanting to get their hands on the information. And both say they will kill him if Falcon doesn’t give them the stick
