Серед них - бідний ірландський іммігрант Деніел Діллон зі своєю дружиною Еленою та маленькою дочкою Гоуп. Заблукавши в заметіль, вони потрапляють до непримітної хатинки старателя-золотодобувача. Розігрітий випивкою та жадобою, Деніел продає старателю дружину та дочку в обмін на заявку, що дозволяє добувати золото. Двадцять років по тому Елена та Гоуп приїздять туди, де колись була хатинка, а тепер - ціле місто, в якому тепер уже багатій Діллон - некоронований король. It's a tougher assignment than it seems: Git's a novice, Bunny's prone to rash acts, Frank doesn't want to be found (and once he's found, he has no money), and maybe Tom's planning to murder Frank, which puts Git in a moral dilemma.
