В останній момент з'ясувалося, що для контролю за посадкою найкраще підходить радіотелескоп, розташований в австралійській глибинці. Для Кліффа Бакстона, який очолює бригаду співробітників телескопа, стала цілковитою несподіванкою величезна кількість важливих персон, які звалилися на нього, наче сніг на голову. Викручуватися довелося самовіддано і геніально.
