Леонід Могилевський (Моґі) (1899–1976) – режисер, кінематографіст та письменник, один з піонерів української кінохроніки. Разом з Довженком ініціював створення першої кінотеки українських фільмів. У 1927 році відділ кінохроніки, очолюваний Могилевським, починає випуск «Кінотижня», а потім і «Кіножурналу» ВУФКУ – знаменитих підбірок свіжої кінохроніки, «своєчасної та злободенної». Наприкінці 1920-х років еміґрував до Франції, а під час Другої світової війни – до США, після знову повернувся в Евро ... пу – знімав у Франції й Італії. Після виїзду з СРСР зняв близько 20 стрічок. Фільми Леоніда Моґі «Париж уночі» (1943) та «Аравійська операція» (1944) Квентін Тарантіно згадує серед стрічок, які надихали його на створення «Безславних виродків» (2009). Ці картини він ставить в один ряд з роботами Жана Ренуара і Фріца Ланґa.

Her arrival causes long standing enmities to surface between two of her old boyfriends, Kenny Veech, a loafing gambler, and debonair Lew Lentz, owner of a local nightclub. Their deep-seated animosity repeatedly results in antagonism and fights as they compete for Mary's affections. Kenny's friend Gitlo, a bartender in Lentz' club, enlists Kenny in an aborted plan to rob Lentz of $15,000 in profits from sponsoring a local carnival.
