Із австрійського музею грабіжники викрадають знамениту картину Густава Клімта "Поцілунок". Охоронець Альберт Вольф, що чергував цієї ночі, потрапляє до лікарні з серцевим нападом. Коли його донька Ізабелла прилітає з Парижа, то батько зізнається їй, що було викрадено підробку, а не оригінал картини, що знаходиться у нього в будинку. Вони вирішують знайти спосіб повернути справжній шедевр до музею. Тим часом власник картини граф Леопольд, у якого мали конфіскувати родовий замок за борги, зазнає змішаних почуттів через крадіжку, тому що виплати за страховкою дозволили би вирішити фінансові проблеми його сім'ї. Доля зводить разом Ізабеллу й аристократа, яким доведеться знайти вихід із цієї заплутаної ситуації...
