In a future surveillance and treatment society where imaginative literature is censored, author Adam Gregor lives an unhappy life. During an argument with his wife, who is prone to conformity, he pushes her over the staircase landing and now believes he has killed her. However, society does not operate with the concept of guilt, and Adam cannot be convicted of murder, but is released after psychiatric treatment. He tries to get in touch with his young son, but encounters a friendly but determined power structure. At the same time, he is monitored by the authorities, who hope he will contact his oppositionist publisher.

Walter's a handsome airline steward who catches the eye of Inge, winner of Malaga's Miss Moonlight contest. Carlo is a motor-mouthed goof who has a "heel bar" (a combination shoe shop and tavern); his companion, Elly, is shooting a video of him. Inge discovers she's an unwitting smuggler, bringing diamonds into Denmark in the heel of a sandal she's won at the beauty contest. When Carlo and Walter take Walter's mom on holiday back to Malaga, Inge follows looking for more diamonds. They're also tailed by Ateza, the smuggler; he kidnaps Inge and orders his men to kill Carlo. Blithely unaware of the dangers, Carlo and Walter (with Elly's camera running) pursue their vacation.

This is the last of the two-part finale of the Olsen Banden series (apart from the 1998 revival). Egon comes up with one brilliant plan after another to get the red suitcase in an attempt to assure world peace (and get the millions). This takes Egon and the gang to Paris, where they raise havoc at Maxim's by replacing the Sauce Imperial with traditional Danish gravy. They return to Denmark just in time for Keld and Yvonne's silver wedding anniversary.
