Сюжет

Судячи з цієї чудової комедії, Йосипу Сталіну (Ф. Мюррей Ебрехам) здорово пощастило - він помер в обіймах австралійської комуністки (Джуді Девіс), запрошеної на черговий великий партійний захід. Повернувшись на батьківщину, в Сідней, ця симпатична фанатичка повертається до комуніста (Джеффрі Раш), який любив її, відвідуючи партійні збори в пивний тільки для того, щоб бути з нею. Він все їй простив і одружився, поставивши одну умову: дитина не повинна знати, хто його справжній батько. Незабаром хлопчик (його назвали Джо), який швидко з'явився на цей світ, вже ходив в школу і блискуче відповідав на питання: "Хто такий Йосип Сталін?", - але нічого не міг розповісти про Вінстона Черчилля. Мабуть, немає сенсу далі розповідати зміст дуже розумної комедії, яка тонко і в той же час так нещадно висміює братські компартії.
