In the French countryside, wild boars ravaging crops spark an open war between farmers and members of a gentlemen’s hunting club, who feed the game between hunts. Brun, a bankrupt farmer, struggles to keep his farm afloat. When the club’s president pushes him to his limits, Brun shoots him and disappears. A year later, Fulda, a volatile police officer just transferred to the region, leads the investigation. Still struggling after a recent breakup, and as wild boars proliferate across the region, he is pushed to the brink of sanity.

Вона паралізована після автомобільної аварії, а він потребує грошей. Ці двійко людей, здається, тихо ненавидять одне одного. Але, як відомо, від ненависти до кохання – один лиш крок…Втім, напевне казати про ненависть поміж героями буде, можливо, занадто. Зате можна вести мову про їхній непростий шлях до кохання через драму життя, через співчуття, нерозуміння і порозуміння.
Із вуст Софі Марсо цей сюжет – «чудесна і правдива історія кохання». Ну а Ламбер її підтримує: «Так, надзвичайно гарно написаний сценарій. 2010 року фільм «Картахена» уперше був показаний в Україні під час Київського міжнародного кінофестивалю «Молодість». Він, власне, асистував урочистій церемонії відкиття фестивалю. І до української столиці завітали виконавці головних ролей – подружня пара Софі Марсо та Крістоф Ламбер.
Вони свого часу, а це був 2007 рік, познайомилися і фактично одружилися, коли Ламбер зіграв у Марсо в її другій повнометражній режисерській роботі – «Зникла в Довілі».
Отже, «Картахена» – Софі Марсо, Крістоф Ламбер плюс драматична історія кохання серед чудесних латиноамериканських пейзажів і дихання океану, що вона делікатно оздоблена проникливою інструментальною музикою. Мелодрама – сумна казка для дорослих.
