Після розкішної званої вечері гості раптом виявляють, що — в силу якихось таємничих причин — не можуть вийти з їдальні. Проходить день, другий, і безлічі ретельно вибудуваних фасадів і поз — наче й не було. Зникають без сліду поняття про пристойність, обумовлених положенням в суспільстві, люди опускаються до примітивного тваринного стану…

After discovering he's being cheated on by his wife MarÃa, Quintin kicks her out of the house. Upon leaving, his wife confesses that their daughter Martha is actually not Quintin'd daughter. Quintin abandons the child in front of a poor family's house. Ten years after, MarÃa is on her death bed, and tells Quintin that Martha is actually his daughter. Quintin must set out and look for his abandoned daughter.

They assume a life of poverty in Mexico in an attempt to teach him a lesson. However, he discovers it's a ruse, but continues to perpetuate the facade of ignorance while sneaking off during the day to conduct his thriving business. Why? To teach his family a lesson - they are all lazy, worthless leeches!
