У Дезіре Харпер, світської левиці з Манхеттена, є все - багатий чоловік, красуні-подруги і прекрасний гардероб. Але коли чоловік кидає її і йде до іншої, ідилії приходить кінець. Втративши усе, Дезіре намагається почати все спочатку. Тепер її дні зайняті зовсім іншим - випічкою кексів в пекарні свого батька, розташованої в маленькому містечку в штаті Нью-Джерсі. Незабаром вона розуміє, що за межами мегаполісів теж можна жити повним життям, а справжню любов простіше зустріти в одноповерховій Америці, ніж на П'ятій авеню.
