Індіанець-метис Чато вбиває шерифа невеликого містечка і втікає. Його переслідує цілий загін, очолюваний колишнім конфедератом, офіцером Вітмором. Але відшукати індіанця в преріях - завдання просто нездійсненне. Зневірившись зловити втікача, мисливці випадково знаходять і беруть в полон його дружину, гвалтують її. Чато перетворюється на запеклого і нещадного месника.
Сюжет
