Farina sees a newspaper ad offering jobs to "colored boys" to be pages at a fancy pet show; the rest of the gang imagines their pet winning a big prize. Whlle Wheezer tries to corral his five puppies, the other little rascals get their animals ready: Mary Ann has a parrot, Chubby has a pig, Jackie imagines winning a prize big enough to buy his first airplane. When they arrive downtown, will they be allowed to enter the contest? Meanwhile, Dorothy has no interest in the pet show; she just wants to put on a clean frock and jump in a mud puddle. What about Farina?

After getting lambasted by the Police Chief for the 42 unsolved robberies committed on his watch, Officer Kennedy bamboozles vagrants Stanley and Oliver into a plan to recover his reputation, in exchange for not jailing them for sleeping on park benches. Kennedy sets them to burgling the Police Chief's own house, planning to arrest them in front of his boss, and later "fixing it" for the boys.

They procede with their usual mayhem, Stanley getting his pick stuck in Oliver's coat, Oliver chopping down a tree which just happens to contain the guard lookout post. When the Governor's party happens by, Oliver accidentally pokes a hole in his car's radiator, then attempts to stop the leak by filling the radiator with rice. The result is melee with all involved throwing clumps of soggy rice at each other.
