Сюжет

Перша світова війна. Літак французьких льотчиків Морешаля й Больдє збитий німецьким асом фон Рауффенштайном, але обоє пілотів залишилися живі й потрапили у табір для військовополонених. Там же перебувають кілька британських офіцерів, до яких новачки приєднуються для роботі над тунелем для втечі.
Після перемоги французів на Західному фронті Морешаля, Болдьє й інших французьких військовополонених переводять в іншу в'язницю, де комендантом призначений їхній «давій знайомий» фон Рауффенштайн.
