Сюжет
У 19 столітті російські поміщики жили нудно і бездіяльно. Важко їм було знайти своє місце в житті, реалізувати себе як особистість. Ось і головний герой фільму Ілля Ілліч Обломов — не хотів трудитися лише задля примноження свого багатства, оскільки не бачив у цьому для себе високої мети. Лежачи на дивані і вдаючись «філософським» роздумам про сенс життя, Обломов багато втративв в цьому житті, в тому числі і своє кохання — Ольгу. Зневірившись достукатися до його серця, вона вийшла заміж за його друга Штольца.
