Сюжет
374 рік від Різдва Хрістова. Герман, відомий своєю жахливою лінню, потрапляє в мережі римських мисливців за рабами. В Римі його перейменовують в Германікуса і за безцінь продають «новій римлянці» Туснельді. Але «солодкий полон» не спокушає його, і він біжить на волю - тільки для того, щоб одержати смертельно небезпечну посаду дегустатора блюд при дворі римського імператора.Природно, що вмирає імператор, а не Германикус. Тепер йому, якого обвинувачують у вбивстві, самому належить стати блюдом для тигрів на арені «Колізею».
