Проповідник повернувшись з Африки в свій дім в Європі, застає зовсім не ту картину, яку чекав побачити. Вся його велика родина зібралася під одним дахом, щоб вирішити питання спадку, що раптово на них звалився. І без того весело спостерігати, як кожен член родини намагається схопити собі більший шматок ... А коли в будинку з'являється нікому не відома молода і красива дівчина Лара, що до речі претендує на велику частину спадку, все перетворюється на справжню комедію. Родина піддається цікавому випробуванню, адже всіх мучить одне питання - хто вона? Their progress and changes in leadership (Lebanese is followed by his cohorts Freddo and Dandi) take place over twenty-five years, from the 1970's into the '90's, and are inseparably intertwined with the dark history of modern Italy: terrorism, kidnappings and corruption at the highest levels of government. His source of income is threatened when Maddalena is injured being hit by a motorcyclist, then beaten by rivals of his, which leads to her being arrested and jailed for a year. Largely because of Iaio, Accattone contemplates going straight and getting a real job. Then he meets Stella, a young innocent woman who has had a hard life, but who is not as naive to the ways of the world as she first appears. Accattone falls in love with her, but as the thought of working a steady job now becomes abhorrent, contemplates pimping for Stella. As Accattone and Stella's relationship progresses, Accattone's past may come back to haunt him.
