Авіатор Андре закоханий у Крістін, яка заміжня за Ля Шене, який однак зраджує їй з іншою жінкою. Суть у тому, що як би не складалося, головне не втрачати обличчя. Фільм про те, що означає бути аристократом, чого хоче жінка і про умовності, в яких ми живемо. Коли комедія з’явилася на екрани в 1939 році, кінотеатр, у якому вона йшла, ледь не спалили. Заборонена під час німецької окупації, як деморалізуюча. Лише в 1965 потрапила на екрани у повному, нецензурованому вигляді.

Перша світова війна. Літак французьких льотчиків Морешаля й Больдє збитий німецьким асом фон Рауффенштайном, але обоє пілотів залишилися живі й потрапили у табір для військовополонених. Там же перебувають кілька британських офіцерів, до яких новачки приєднуються для роботі над тунелем для втечі.Після перемоги французів на Західному фронті Морешаля, Болдьє й інших французьких військовополонених переводять в іншу в'язницю, де комендантом призначений їхній «давій знайомий» фон Рауффенштайн.

Based on stories from "The Arabian Nights." A wicked sorcerer tricks Prince Achmed into riding a magical flying horse. The heroic prince is able to subdue the magical horse, which he uses to fly off to many adventures. While travelling, he falls in love with the beautiful Princess Peri Banu, and must defeat an army of demons to win her heart. The entire film is animated using the silhouette technique, which employs movable cardboard and metal cutouts posed in front of illuminated sheets of glass.
