Dashrath Manjhi was a poor man from the lowest of the low castes, living in a remote village cut off from the world by a rocky mountain range. Life for him was a daily struggle for survival. He loved his wife, Phaguniya, beyond belief. One day, while climbing the mountain to bring him food, his wife slipped, fell and died. Overwhelmed by grief, Dashrath decided to carve out a path through the mountain, so that no one else would suffer his fate. For 22 years, all by himself, with just a hammer and a chisel, he hammered away at the rocks, till the path was carved out from the mountain.

Based in Budbuda, Uttar Pradesh, Billu Vilas Pardesi barely makes a living as a barber. His wife, Bindiya, looks after the household, and his children, Gunja and Ronak, are on the verge of being expelled from Gyaan Bharti Vidyalay Higher Secondary School due to non-payment of fees. Then everything changes when Bollywood actor Sahir Khan makes an appearance to film a movie in the town. Rumors spread that Billu is Sahir's close friends, and he becomes a celebrity virtually overnight. His shop gets donations and clientÃ¨le, and the school decides to educate his children for free. The trouble begins when townsfolk want to meet with Sahir but Billu is unable to contact him.

Сюжет

Адітья - бізнесмен-невдаха. До того ж кохана виходить заміж за іншого. Йому не вистачає мужності повернутися додому, тому він сідає в перший-ліпший потяг і їде, «світ за очі». Але доля розпоряджається інакше. У поїзді він знайомиться з дівчиною на ім'я Гіта. Вона красива, але надто балакуча. Дівчина дратує Адітья до такої міри, що він сходить з поїзда. Вона намагається повернути його назад, але сама спізнюється на потяг. Так вони обидва опиняються на покинутій станції без багажу і грошей.
