Філеас Фогг - справжній англійський джентльмен, заможній і небагатослівний. Він ніколи не поспішає, але завжди встигає. Його зовсім неможливо застати зненацька, бо, здається, немає таких ситуацій, яких би він не передбачив. Рідкісний домосід і консерватор, він відвідує лише улюблений Клуб Реформ, де проводить час за читанням газет і грою у віст.Але ось одного разу, повернувшись ввечері додому, Фогг оголошує новому слузі - французу Жану Паспарту (який уже налаштувався на таке ж розмірене життя у вікторіанському стилі), що вони негайно вирушають у навколосвітню подорож. Між тим, за три дні до цього був пограбований Англійський банк. І прикмети злочинця, розіслані по всіх куточках земної кулі, повністю співпали із зовнішністю Фогга! На що і звертає увагу детектив Фікс, який вирішує пуститися за нашими героями по п'ятах ..
