Талановитий і амбітний єгипетський режисер вирушає знімати кінохроніку про рейд озброєних формувань Єгипту на єврейську комуну Ніцанім. Прагнучи наповнити кадри патріотичним запалом, документаліст опиняється в гущавині бою і несподівано усвідомлює, що реальна війна не має нічого спільного з його очікуваннями. Тим часом на іншій стороні зіткнення опиняється молода мешканка комуни. Перед сміливою і рішучою жінкою постає непростий вибір між громадянським та родинним обов’язками.
