Александер Нанау — румунський режисер. Вивчав режисуру в Академії кіно і телебачення у Берліні. Його документальний фільм «Світ очима Йона Б.» (2009) здобув міжнародну «Еммі» за найкраще мистецьке програмування на ТБ, а фільм «Тото і його сестри» (2014) був номінований на премію Європейської кіноакадемії. Прем’єра нового фільму Нанау «Колектив» відбулася на Венеційському кінофестивалі.

У 2015 році в Румунії виникла гостра політична криза, до якої призвела трагедія у бухарестському клубі «Колектив». Тоді внаслідок пожежі 27 людей загинули на місці, а 180 були важко поранені. Ще кілька десятків людей померли в лікарні з опіками, які не загрожували життю. Через цей випадок лікар закликав ЗМІ розслідувати справу й дошукатися до причини смертей. Журналісти не лише знаходять відповідь, а й розкривають масштабні оборудки у сфері медицини. Новопризначений міністр охорони здоров’я йде на контакт із пресою та намагається реформувати систему, але на його шляху теж стоять перепони.

Сюжет
The movie is a very direct view into the rehearsal room, where the theatre director Peter Zadek and his actors are just about to invent the staging of Peer Gynt and accompanies the dramatic process until the first night. The theme of Hendrik Ibsen’s play “being oneself” is as well part of the fight between Zadek and his actors for authenticity in acting. There are no interviews explaining Zadek’s working methods but just the direct view on the situation between the directors and actors. The viewer gets the possibility to understand the process of their work and to experience the result of it while coming into being.
