Ми вже звикли, що в Голлівуді схильні знімати римейки успішних французьких фільмів – прикладів тому безліч. Навпаки буває рідко. Та маємо саме такий випадок: стрічка Жака Одіара – римейк фільму американського кінорежисера Джеймса Тобака „Пальці” – з молодим Гарві Кейтелем у головній ролі. То був 1978 рік. Французька ж версія 2005-го, попри чималі зміни, слідує сюжетній канві ориґіналу: 28-літній герой Тома, що його грає один з найцікавіших французьких акторів молодшого покоління – Ромен Дюріс, продовжує батькову справу, а це бізнес на нерухомості. Методи достатньо жорстокі та брудні, один із найбезневинніших – підкидання щурів у будинок, щоб „викурити” звідтіля мешканців... Та якось Тома зустрічає друга своєї покійної матері, відомої піаністки, і пригадує: його теж колись мали за перспективного музиканта. Чому б не повернутися до світу музики? Ось тут усе і починається...
