Online cult leader Sherry Shriner reaches her followers through YouTube videos and keeps them in line via her Facebook page; when a group member dies in a tragic shooting, attention turns to Sherry and the control she wields over her followers.
In 2018, a fourteen-year-old boy named John Aubrey Peal III from Mississippi uses a popular 'voice and text chat' app for gamers, hoping to find others interested in gaming. He strikes up an online friendship with a man named Jason, who claims he is suicidal. Concerned, Aubrey agrees to meet Jason, not realizing Jason's evil intentions.
Cece bonds with a man she meets on a dating app. He soon asks for her money for his business, and she happily obliges. Cece ignores red flags because she wants the story to be true, but instead, she becomes yet another victim of a romance scam.
