Nevertheless they are older they still love to spend their time mainly organizing irresistible jokes to everyone in every kind of situation. Mascetti is hospitalized in a geriatric clinic. Of course the place become immediately the main stage for all their jokes. After some jokes they decided to place an ultimate incredible and farcical joke to the clinic guests.

Три новели оповідають про те, яка буває любов в різні періоди життя і як переплетення доль і життєві випадковості допомагають розібратися в природі людських відчуттів. «Молодість» — це історія, молодого амбітного юриста Роберто, якого напередодні свого весілля несподівано засліплює спалах пристрасті до зовсім іншої жінки. У «Зрілості» успішний телеведучий Фабіо, відданий чоловік і дбайливий батько, по збігу дивних обставин опиняється в обіймах молодої Еліани. «Після» — історія Адріана, американського професора історії мистецтв, який після розлучення вирішує переїхати до Риму. Він самотній і пригнічений. Єдиний, хто виявляє до Адріана хоч якусь цікавість — це швейцар Августо. Саме йому Адріан розповідає свою таємницю: сім років тому він переніс складну операцію на серці. Однак скандал, що розгорівся, призводить не тільки до нищівної поразки чинних політичних сил, але й вкрай негативно позначається на самому Лаугесені.
