Неохоче вона погоджується взяти під свою опіку 12-річного вуличного хлопчика сенегальського походження на ім'я Момо. Ці два людини різні в усьому: вік, етнічна приналежність та релігія. Хлопці з юних років звикли тримати в руках зброю та їздити на своїх скутерах нічним Неаполем. У них крутий одяг, татуювання та свавільний характер. Кожен із них вважає людину поруч своїм братом і готовий життя за нього віддати. Вони не бояться в'язниці, смерті та ризику. Хлопці думають, що нічого не мають – але у них є дружба, любов. І все це вони готові віддати, щоб домогтися своїх цілей. Яких би цілей ця італійська молодь не добивалася, їх методи жорстокі. Це може зайти дуже далеко, і краще би цього не допустити.

Beautifully wrought by master Italian director Gianni Amelio. This really is a portrait of the highs and lows of modern life. At its heart is a sympathetic man (superbly embodied by leading actor Antonio Albanese) who, despite loneliness and personal family problems, especially around his gifted but troubled musician son, remains defiantly optimistic even when terrible things happen to him and the people he meets. With echoes of films like Being Thereand even Zelig, L'Intrepido is gently satirical, acutely observed and, whilst still having the atmosphere of a fable, is replete with a wonderfully appropriate music score.
