Кетрін Колдуелл - південна красуня, у якої є все: будинок, слуги, красивий наречений. Але вона рішуче пориває зі своїм оточенням, плює на моральні цінності американського півдня і виходить заміж за таємничого шукача пригод графа Алукарда, що приїхав з Європи. Кетрін переслідує цілком певну мету: вона хоче отримати вічне життя. Ім'я графа слід читати навпаки. Він один з нащадків трансильванця-кровопивці. Незабаром Кетрін стає справжнісінькою відьмою. Але хтось повинен вирвати її з кігтів вампіра. І з'являється її колишній наречений.
