Сюжет
Досвідчений злодій і гравець Боб (Нолт) хоче покласти край низці своїх невдач. Він планує зробити це за допомогою пограбування казино на півдні Франції. Поліцейський, що симпатизує Бобу (Каріо), намагається перешкодити йому, однак герой склав хитромудрий план, згідно з яким і його помічники, і охоронці закону є лише пішаками у складній грі...Світ шахраїв, аферистів та комбінаторів давно цікавить кінематографістів, надихаючи їх на створення як шедеврів на кшталт «Афери» (1973) Джорджа Роя Хілла, так і звичайних розважальних стрічок, іноді не позбавлених певної привабливості. Не залишився байдужим до цієї теми і Джордан («Інтерв’ю з вампіром», «Кінець роману», «Майкл Коллінз»), який у «Доброму злодії» використав сюжет французької картини «Гравець Боб» (1955).
