In the planet Antar, diabolical Ratam takes the power after the emperor's death. All dominate forcing the children to the slave work. Maintained inside of the palace, the Princess Xeron thinks that all are happy. Outside, the princes Mussaim, Zacaling and Dedeo join to the Horseman Without Name to combat Ratam and to free the children. They get to speak with the princess and, counting with her help, they form an army of children to free the planet of the forces of the evil.

Failing to obtain any vultures to eat, being the only potential food in the severe drought of Northeastern Brazil, Didi and his friends, Soró and Tatu, put their hut on a wagon pulled by their burro, Salvation, and head for the town of Oróz, believing they can find water there. On the way, they find a Scarecrow, whom Didi calls Clowbrush (clown+brush), besieged by vultures reminiscent of the crows in _Wiz, The (1978/I)_. They kill and eat the vultures and take the brainless Scarecrow with them, hoping a doctor at Oróz will put them in. They next stumble upon a warehouse, finding a man in a metal vat of rum, which is his blood, yet he desires a heart. In the town of Oróz, Sheriff Lion works for Colonel Ferreira, who owns a pond using gigantic frogs to keep people from obtaining water without paying. Lion's girlfriend, Aninha the schoolmaster, thinks he is a coward for not standing up to the Colonel. The Tramps, with Vat and Clowbrush, arrive and promptly rob a bakery. Sheriff Lion puts Soró and Tatu in jail, while to redeem himself, he is ordered to supervise Didi, Vat, and Clowbrush in a search for water, which is their punishment. After disguising themselves as Ferreira's guards, they are nonetheless discovered, so they flee to a desert, where a saint points them to the Wizard of Oróz, who fiendishly supports their mission... The film, while a spoof of a famous story, was also intended to make people aware of the conditions in the Northeast, which Aragão said he could not show in any greater detail, lest the film be terrified by the reality of the plight in that area.

When the result of his tomography arrives, his doctor says that he had seen some blur in his lungs and with that report he would give the correct diagnosis. Lineu steals the document afraid of having a tumor, but he believes he will die sooner. Meanwhile, Nenê meets Carlinhos in the supermarket where he is the manager and invites him to have dinner with her family. Lineu hides his concerns to Nenê, and his attitudes in the dinner misguide Nenê, and she believes Lineu has a lover and does not love him anymore.

In rural Comfort, Texas, the strict protestant Horizon Bible church community holds its annual, pretty strictly supervised summer camp, with mandatory prayer sessions, for fraternizing teens from all over the States. The day before their departure, storm weather is announced, the busses even ride early to keep ahead, but the wind makes a river rise too fast: the busses are caught, everybody must run on foot. As TV reporters see from their helicopter, the rising water is too fast for one bus after choosing the wrong way, children and staff must climb in trees but can't cling on very long. Some kids break down in understandable panic, others prove true and unselfish courage, including Brad, the natural leader, every girl's dream and the most boisterous of the pack, occasionally braving the rather totalitarian system. Worried parents fly in to the rescue center in a public school, where survivors and corpses are brought in, including that of Tonya Smith; her overprotective father heartlessly does like always: rebuke poor older brother Michael, an obedient, fat kid who never gets a break or treat and still is never good enough for pa's praise, now even gets blamed for 'failing' to watch over his kid sisters, obviously brother Koons's adult team's job, actually just beyond human strength. A brave reporter can't stand by idly as too many victims are still in desperate need for the military rescue crew to handle, but his own helicopter gets in trouble. The growing victims list and guilt feelings, even just for surviving when others didn't, cause a flood of tears too...
