Angela and Bob Brooks are an upper class couple. Unfortunately, Bob is an unfaithful husband. But Angela has a plan to win back her husband's affections. Later, when her body is found, he assigns his protégé reporter to the story, as a good, exploitable follow-up story to the ball.
