Дві молоді людини Джек Павелл і Дейвід Армстронґ з одного невеликого містечка закохані у Сільвію Льюїс. Однак Сільвія відповідає взаємністю Дейвіду, а Джек не помічає закохану у нього сусідську дівчину Мері Престон. Після вступу США у Першу Світову війну юнаки потрапляють в авіаційний корпус і стають не тільки асами, а й друзями.
