Збірник "меланхолійних бурлесків", стилізованих під німе кіно початку століття, "Страдники кохання" - про мрїї як притулок, де можна сховатися від смутку, розпачу й нестерпної сірості життя.
Уривки снів і галюцинацій, часто лише миттєвих, де недосказанного, як уві сні, завжди більше, ніж висказанного, відтворюють придуманий світ сентиментальних мелодрамам та трагікомедій початку століття, де герої - невдахи, пригнічені відчуттям власного безсилля, знаходять те, чого їх позбавило реальне життя.
