TV personality Robert Danvers, an exceedingly vain rotter, seduces young women daily, never staying long with one. He meets his match in Marion, an American, 19, who's available but refuses any romantic illusions. At first, her candor and cynicism put him off, but after he witnesses her breaking up with her rocker boyfriend, he's attracted to her and invites her on an idyllic two-week trip to France. Slowly, she pokes holes in his artifice and he comes to care for her. When they return to London, with the press thinking they're married, they come to a cross-roads: go back to their old lives, marry each other, or invent a new, open relationship. Is Robert up to it?

Сюжет

У світі «Зоряного шляху» Земля, переживши техногенну катастрофу 21 століття, відкриває принцип космічних польотів із надсвітловою швидкістю. Це відкриття збігається з прибуттям на Землю перших чужопланетян з екзопланети Вулкан (англ. Vulkan). Дія більшості серій відбувається на борту зоряного корабля «Ентерпрайз» (англ. "Enterprise"), який Земля спорядила для дослідження просторів глибокого космосу. З огляду на недосвідченість земного екіпажу в стосунках із розумними істотами інших планет, до екіпажу входить у якості наукового консультанта представник планети Вулкан.

Серіал «Зоряний шлях» (англ. Star Trek: The Original Series) демонструвався в США в 1966–1968 роках. Ідея серіалу й перші сценарії належать Джину Роденбері. Під час першої трансляції серіал не користувався великою популярністю, проте з часом, протягом наступних показів здобув статус культового.
