Десь у Канаді, під час перевезення матеріалу, літак потрапляє в грозу і матерія знищує все на величезній відстані, після цього прийнято рішення позбутися речовини. Уряд наймає військового Джордана, який брав участь у відкритті матерії, і команду досвідчених фахівців, які повинні на гігантському танкері відправити речовина в морську безодню.
