Сюжет

Життя артиста кіно полосате як зебра — запаморочливий успіх чергується з поразками. Для Тоні Хантера, викинутого з Голлівуду, настав період забуття. Але, слава богу, що у хлопця є вірні друзі: Лестер і Лілі. Вони вмовляють Тоні випробувати удачу на сцені в постановці бродвейського мюзиклу. Після низки невдач, він бере участь в Нью-Йоркському шоу, але і тут все проти нього, і прима балерина, і ревнивий хореограф, який його просто ненавидить. А продюсер і режисер його взагалі на дух не переносять. Але шоу триває, і впертий Тоні все-таки ухитряється перетворити його в саме «гаряче» на Бродвеї.

In heaven, showman Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. fondly recalls his first Broadway revue, the Ziegfeld Follies of 1907. Even from heaven, he is hoping that he can, for one last time, create that same magic by mounting one last follies. As he thinks about who he would like to appear in these follies, he is assisted in realizing his fantasy, at least in his own mind, by such luminaries as Fred Astaire, Edward Arnold, 'Lucille Ball', Marion Bell, Lucille Bremer, Fanny Brice, Cyd Charisse, Judy Garland, Kathryn Grayson, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly, James Melton, Victor Moore, Virginia O'Brien, Red Skelton, Esther Williams, Keenan Wynn, and, of course, a bevy of beautiful girls.

Ali Baba, son of the Kalif of Bagdad is brought up by the 40 Thieves after his father is killed by the soldiers of Hugalu Khan, who received the necessary information by traitor Cassim. Ali becomes the leader of the thieves and they are fighting for the freedom of his land. Per chance Ali captures the fiancÃ©e of Hugalu Khan, who turns out to be his girl friend Amara. After a few misunderstandings Ali uses her wedding day with Hugalu Khan as the day for the liberation of Bagdad.
