21 грудня 1988 року рейс 103 авіакомпанії Pan Am, що виконував трансатлантичний рейс з Лондона до Нью-Йорка, був знищений бомбою через 38 хвилин після зльоту під час подолання маршруту над шотландським містом Локербі, в результаті чого загинули всі 243 пасажири і 16 членів екіпажу. Частини літака впали в житловому районі, в результаті чого загинули ще 11 людей. Серіал розповідає реальну історію Джима Свайра та його дружини Джейн, які шукають справедливості для жертв, серед яких, на превеликий жаль, опинилася і їхня донька Флора.
