Історія групи N.W.A із Комптона, штат Каліфорнія, котра в середині 1980-х зробила революцію в хіп-хоп музиці. Їх вважають однією з основоположних груп в історії хіп-хоп музики, а також одними з перших популяризаторів піджанру "гангста-реп". Група існувала в період з 1986 по 1991 роки. Жорстка лірика, прославляння у своїх текстах наркоторгівлі, бандитського способу життя, відкрита неповага до жінок та брутальні висловлювання в сторону поліції, це все призвело до заборони групи на багатьох основних радіостанціях США, та навіть до заборони на гастролі. За 5 років свого існування група випустила лише 2 студійні альбоми, що згодом стали платиновими. Видання "Rolling Stone" поставило N.W.A на 83-є місце у списку "100 Найвеличніших Артистів Всіх Часів"
