Пітер Квіл стає жертвою мисливців за головами після крадіжки таємничої сфери, за якою полював Ронан - могутній лиходій, повний амбіцій і загрозливий для цілого всесвіту. Щоб здолати Ронана, Пітеру доводиться об'єднатися з квартетом покидьків: озброєним до зубів єнотом Ракетою, деревоподібним гуманоїдом Ґрутом, смертельно небезпечною і загадковою Ґаморою і мстивим Драксом-Руйнівником.
