Самотня квітка на довгій дорозі, падіння ключа, відкриття дверей, ніж в буханці хліба, трубка знята з телефону: суперечливі зображення, які бачить жінка, коли вона повертається додому. Вона дрімає і, можливо, мріє. Вона бачить таємничу постать, що проходить вниз по дорозі. Ніж на сходинці, потім в її ліжку. Таємнича фігура кладе квітку на її ліжко а потім зникає. Жінка бачить, що все трапляється знову. Вона дрімає в кріслі. Вона прокидається, щоб побачити чоловіка, який піднімається сходами з квіткою. Він кладе її на ліжко. Ніж під рукою. Чи можуть ці послідовності, подібні мріям і сновидінням, мати хороший кінець? Дзеркало розбивається, чоловік входить в будинок знову. Але чи знайде він її?

Donald has an unpleasant evening when a mysterious book salesman comes to his door then disappears leaving Donald with a collection of whodunnit novels. He reads one and gets so fully involved in it that it appears that the characters are actually coming out of the book and into his living room getting him involved in the murder caper. Finally the author of the book, J. Harold King, steps forth and claims Donald innocent. The characters return to the novel from whence they came leaving Donald wondering if it was really just his "imagination".
