Радикально настроєні нащадки колишніх нацистів, ведені Андреасом Баадером, колишньою журналісткою Ульріке Майнгоф і Ґудрун Енсслін борються проти того, що вони називають обличчям фашизму: проти політики США у В'єтнамі, на Близькому Сході й у країнах третього світу, підтримуваної ключовими фігурами від німецької політики, юриспруденції й індустрії. Баадер, Майнгоф і Енсслін створюють фракцію Червоної Армії й оголошують війну ФРН.Розпалюється кривава терористична кампанія. Безліч убитих і поранених.

For example Jutta, struggling with her jealousy of Hildegard's success, and the young Richardis who worships Hildegard both as an intellectual role model and a mother figure.
