Майже вийшло: наступною спробою став напівпародійний мікс “Фредді проти Джейсона”, а незабаром франчізу перезапустять так само, як “П’ятницю”. Те, що зробив у “Новому жаху” Крейвен, дуже оригінальним назвати важко, але це краще і страшніше, ніж попередні п’ять серій. Фільм міг би бути гідною крапкою у цій темі.
