Дія стрічки розгортається у найближчому майбутньому. Канадський режисер з українським корінням вирішує відвідати землю предків та згодом опиняється у незвичних умовах. У результаті певних міжнародних договорів жителям України відкриваються кордони до всього світу. Розчаровані своєю країною, обтяжені численною кількістю невирішених проблем, вони нарешті можуть вільно відвідати будь – який куточок світу. Відтак, за декілька тижнів наша країна опиняється порожньою. Її жителі на радощах покидають її територію у гонитві за кращим життям.Тим часом наш герой намагається знайти когось з тих, хто залишився. Протягом тривалої експедиції йому та його знімальній команді вдається знайти лише декількох людей, що знаходились у різних куточках України. Вони єдині, хто лишився жити в одній з найбільших країн Європи. Разом з експертами з різних сфер він намагається знайти пояснення цій ситуації та зрозуміти: що сталось з населенням майже у 40 мільйонів людей, та чому саме ця країна раптово спорожніла?
