None with Nazi leanings, the five talk individually about what it is like to carry a name associated with the Nazi Party, being a blood relative to someone associated with hate and murder, being German at a time when that in and of itself was seen as being associated with Naziism, dealing with their family regardless of their allegiance to the Nazi Party, and if they feel any guilt associated with the actions of their infamous ancestor. Норман Вінтер - дійсно один з останніх представників американських трапперів, що живе в Скелястих Горах зі своєю дружиною-індіанкою Небраскою і собаками. Він намагається зберігати гармонію з природою, однак невблаганний наступ цивілізації і зникнення незайманих лісів робить цю мету все більш нездійсненною... Ніколя Ваньє вперше звернувся до мистецтва кінематографа, однак його ім'я досить добре відомо - за останні півтора десятка років він опублікував кілька книг і фотоальбомів. Під час його знаменитої "Білої Одіссеї" - подорожі довжиною в 8600 кілометрів з узбережжя Аляски до канадського Квебека - Ваньє зустрів реально існуючого Нормана Вінтера, який дійсно вже давно ховається від руйнівної цивілізації в незайманих лісах Півночі. Ваньє вирішив зняти фільм про останнього мисливця, але тут, на погляд критиків, дещо помилився з формою - замість об'єктивної документальної стрічки Ваньє раптом зняв фільм ігровий. Тобто всі герої "Мисливця" грають самих себе, але при цьому за сценарієм режисера. І тому, при всій своїй неймовірній красі, фільм вийшов просвітницьким і повчальним - в дусі освітніх передач для школярів, а вкладені в уста головного героя слова звучать явно неприродно. Спроба, сама по собі, проте, цікава, а що до зайвого пафосу... краще просто дивитися і жалкувати про неможливість втраченої гармонії.

Норман Вінтер - дійсно один з останніх представників американських трапперів, що живе в Скелястих Горах зі своєю дружиною-індіанкою Небраскою і собаками. Він намагається зберігати гармонію з природою, однак невблаганний наступ цивілізації і зникнення незайманих лісів робить цю мету все більш нездійсненною... Ніколя Ваньє вперше звернувся до мистецтва кінематографа, однак його ім'я досить добре відомо - за останні півтора десятка років він опублікував кілька книг і фотоальбомів. Під час його знаменитої "Білої Одіссеї" - подорожі довжиною в 8600 кілометрів з узбережжя Аляски до канадського Квебека - Ваньє зустрів реально існуючого Нормана Вінтера, який дійсно вже давно ховається від руйнівної цивілізації в незайманих лісах Півночі. Ваньє вирішив зняти фільм про останнього мисливця, але тут, на погляд критиків, дещо помилився з формою - замість об'єктивної документальної стрічки Ваньє раптом зняв фільм ігровий. Тобто всі герої "Мисливця" грають самих себе, але при цьому за сценарієм режисера. І тому, при всій своїй неймовірній красі, фільм вийшов просвітницьким і повчальним - в дусі освітніх передач для школярів, а вкладені в уста головного героя слова звучать явно неприродно. Спроба, сама по собі, проте, цікава, а що до зайвого пафосу... краще просто дивитися і жалкувати про неможливість втраченої гармонії.
Сюжет
Фільм-експеримент. Фон Трієр списався з культовим данським режисером Йоргеном Летом, на картинах якого він вчився професії в юності, і запропонував зустрітися. Зустріч задокументована у фільмі. Ларс пропонує Йоргену зробити п'ять римейків його класичної короткометражки 1967 року "Ідеальна людина", при кожному римейку виконуючи ряд умов і обходячи ряд перешкод, придуманих фон Трієром. Той погоджується. У Лета з Трієром вийшов навіть не зовсім фільм, а свого роду концептуальний продукт.
