Дане аніме було знято на замовлення Дені Вільньова - режисера фільму "Той, хто біжить по лезу 2049", як передісторія до його фільму і відображення ключових подій між 2019 та 2049 роками. Усього було замовлено 3 короткометражних фільми, один з них анімаційний.
