Французька ж версія 2005-го, попри чималі зміни, слідує сюжетній канві ориґіналу: 28-літній герой Тома, що його грає один з найцікавіших французьких акторів молодшого покоління – Ромен Дюріс, продовжує батькову справу, а це бізнес на нерухомості. Методи достатньо жорстокі та брудні, один із найбезневинніших – підкидання щурів у будинок, щоб „викурити” звідтіля мешканців...
