A cat who turns into a young woman (Minoes) retains some of her feline characteristics and helps a journalist to gather news for the front page of a local newspaper. With the help of Minoes, who can talk to the cats in the small town, he soon discovers that the helpful and popular chairman of the "Club For Friends of Animals" and boss of a nearby factory has evil plans with the village.

On a quest to find a new home young Pluk in his little red crane wagon end up in the Petteflet. He moves in to a little deserted tower room and quickly befriends some of the inhabitants and animals from the Torteltuin, the beautiful garden of the place. When he finds out the Torteltuin is about to be destroyed, Pluk and his friends are willing to try everything to stop it.

Dik (Michael Nierse) woont samen met Pa (Marcel Musters) en Ma Trom (Eva Van Der Gucht) in het gezellige Dikkedam. Alle bewoners van het plaatsje zijn levensgenieters die graag lekker en veel eten, en daardoor net zoals Dik en zijn ouders behoorlijk fors zijn. Diks zorgeloze leventje wordt omgegooid als Pa met zijn gezin naar Dunhoven verhuist om daar een restaurant te beginnen. In Dunhoven let iedereen precies op wat hij eet en is sporten en slank zijn het belangrijkste wat er is. Het restaurant lijkt dus gedoemd te mislukken. Dan wordt Dik ook nog verliefd op Lieve (Fiona Livingston), de dochter van Sonja Slager (Loes Haverkort), de plaatselijke dieetgoeroe. Terwijl zijn vader het hoofd boven water probeert te houden, bindt Dik de strijd aan met Viktor, de vervelende zoon van de sportschoolhouder die eveneens een oogje heeft op Lieve.
