Грудень 1944 рік, Ліонель Еванс, всесвітньо відомий американський диригент, знаходиться на гастролях в нещодавно звільненій Бельгії. Але під час німецького контрнаступу, Еванса та інших членів оркестру беруть в полон і привозять в старий замок в Люксембурзі. Arthur Goldman is a rich Jewish industrialist, living in luxury in a Manhattan high-rise. He banters with his assistant Charlie, often shocking Charlie with his outrageousness and irreverence about aspects of Jewish life.
