Варшава, 30-ті роки XX-го століття. Генрік Квінто (Ян Махульскі) виходить з в'язниці. Колишній партнер, банкір Крамер (Леонард Пєтрашак), який зрадив його, пропонує йому відшкодування. Квінто відвідує дружину покійного друга, Рихліньского - Марту (Ева Шикульска). Він дізнається, що до його самогубства, спричинився власне Крамер. Розлючений Квінто обмірковує план помсти.
