8.1 Сюжет
Майкл, Стівен та Нік - молоді робітники на фабриці у Пенсильванії. Майкл та Нік закохані у Лінду, яка, здається, жонглює обома хлопцями. Все змінилося, коли вони записалися до армії, щоб воювати у В'єтнамі. До відльоту, Стівен одружується із вагітною Анжелою і їхнє весілля стає прощальної вечіркою для хлопців. Через якийсь час, переживши жахи війни, троє друзів потрапляють у полон до В'єтконгівців. Вони опиняються у таборі для полонених, де вимушені грати у "російську рулетку" один проти одного. Друзям вдається втекти з табору, але їхні життя змінилися назавжди. Нік залишається у В'єтнамі, Майкл повертається до Лінди, а Стівен стає калікою, втративши ноги на війні. Натхненням для створення фільму послужив роман Еріх Марія Ремарка «Три товариші».
