Сюжет
Полковник Фоссет, член Королівського Географічного товариства, був одним з видатних дослідників Південної Америки початку XX століття. Найбільше його цікавили центральні регіони Бразилії, куди він їздив сім разів між 1906 і 1924 роками. У свою останню експедицію він відправився в 1925-му. Він збирався відшукати якесь загублене місто на території штату Мату-Гроссо. Перед відїздом він заповів не організовувати пошуки його групи, якщо вона не повернеться до призначеного терміну. Фоссет не повернувся, і багаторазові спроби встановити долю експедиції та її маршрут ні до чого не привели.

Сюжет

Повернувшись на берег вони дізнаються, що на Флориду обрушилося цунамі, а тихе спокійне містечко тепер виглядає так, ніби там розверзлася брама пекла – спалені та зруйновані будинки, всі жителі безжально винищені. Розгадка не забарилася: на вулицях з'являється банда до зубів озброєних головорізів під проводом людини, чиє обличчя приховано кришталевою маскою у вигляді черепа.

Kay Hoog travels to Peru, where he retrieves his map and a document about the Diamond Ship from The Spiders. Later he saves the Priestess of the Sun Naela and brings her to San Francisco. However, The Spiders kill Naela and Kay Hoog promises revenge for the death of his love.
