До чарівного курортного міста Сен-Тропе на підвищення переводять мужнього сержанта Крюшо (де Фюнес) разом з красивою дочкою Ніколь. Добрі, але придуркуваті жандарми приймають нового колегу з радістю. Але радість тривала недовго... Ще більше придуркуватий, аніж його підлеглі, Крюшо у захваті стає на захист закону. Місто одразу охоплює хвиля штрафів, починається нещадне полювання на нудистів.
